“Great healthy getaway”

I had a few weeks off in-between jobs, and although I was going to the gym, i was finding a lot of my time was being spent on the sofa, hiding from the cold and miserable UK weather, and well, just not being particularly productive. I decided it was time to escape on a last minute trip to get me out of my sluggish mood. Having looked around at a few other places, I found Lamai fitness. I contacted Billy on the Friday, who was super responsive and accommodating meaning I was booked and on my way by Sunday. I did 10 days in total and genuinely would have loved to stay longer. Over the course of my program my fitness levels improved dramatically with the added bonus of losing 3kg. All of the Lamai team are great, big shout out to Jason who was key to keeping everyone motivated and happy. With sessions in the morning and evening you have the day to enjoy the sunshine and the island which really suited me and meant you didn’t burn out. I came on my own and had no problem meeting lots of great people, varying in age and nationality. Definitely planning on coming back when I need another retox. Thanks again.

This weekend we head of to Vietnam 70.3 Ironman with our Layman Competitors … Dave , Babara, Dennis, Nik and Trent have taken the challenge for the last 4 months to compete this weekend ! After months of training and the last three weeks in Koh Samui at Tri Camp – we are tapering off and getting ready for the race – watch out for our next 30 days promotion for the Phuket 70.3 Challenge in November !

Last years money raised for the Children’s unit in Koh Samui hospital was a great help and appreciated so much by the children’s ward and kindergarten ! A huge thanks to everyone who gave their time and donations to help us help the local community …
This year we have decided to run the event again The Great Wall Of China 2017 ! 100% off all training plans and charity donations go direct to the hospital and Dr Rapheephan (shown in picture) splits the costs throughout the department.
After speaking to Dr Rapheephan from the clinic she has told us of the new air conditioning they are installing … So we have decided to keep with the same charity The Childrens Special Needs Ward in Nathon, Koh Samui and hopefully with your support and our teams dedication of months of training and then conquering the 42k on the wall … we will be able to help again ! …

Lamai Fitness and Lamai Magic
Lamai as some fascinating rock formations, they have been a source of mirth and wonder on the island since they were discovered by the locals many years ago. Art often imitates Nature, but less common is Nature imitating Art, especially the Art of the Ribald. But in Thailand anything is possible and these rocks, known as Grandpa (Ta) and Grandma (Yai), look, respectively, like male and female genitalia. Set on the rocky coastline they raise indulgent chuckles or embarrassed titters from those who go to see them. This unusual and titillating sight has, naturally, given rise to a legend explaining how the rocks came into being.
“A folklore of Samui Island tells the story of an old couple by the name of Ta Kreng (Grandpa Kreng) and Yai Riem (Grandma Riem) who lived with their son in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Since their son had come of age, they felt that it was time he got married. “One day they decided to sail to the neighbouring province of Prachuap Khiri Khan to ask for the hand of the daughter of a man named Ta Monglai. During their sea journey, their boat was seized by a storm. The old man and his wife were unable to swim ashore. They died at sea, turning into rocks as proof to the would-be bride’s parents of their true intentions. The rocks stand there to this day.” The views from the rocks and vicinity are spectacular, stretching across the sea to nearby islands”
